Research Project:
OPTIMIZATION OF ATTRACT AND KILL FORMULATION FOR COLORADO POTATO BEETLE CONTROL
Location: Invasive Insect Biocontrol and Behavior Laboratory
Project Number: 1275-22000-234-13
Project Type:
Specific Cooperative Agreement
Start Date: Sep 21, 2007
End Date: Sep 30, 2009
Objective:
To gain knowledge necessary for alternative management practices to maintain effectiveness of insecticides for control of Colorado potato beetle.
Approach:
Increasing levels of resistance of Colorado potato beetle to neonicotinoid insecticides and the spread of this resistance among populations threaten the growers¿ ability to economically control pestiferous populations. Attract and kill formulations may be useful in managing Colorado potato beetles and development of resistance to currently used pesticides.
