CONTRACTS

ARMY

Relm Communications, Incorporated, dba BK Radio, Incorporated, was awarded on August 26, 1996, a firm fixed price contract with an estimated not-to-exceed cumulative total of $40,500,000 (appropriation number and dollar value will be issued with each delivery order) for indefinite delivery 5-year requirements acquisition for the AN/PRC-127(A) radio set including 1st year requirements for six replacement parts. Work will be performed in West Melbourne, Fla., and is expected to be completed by March 31, 2002. Bids were solicited on the electronic bulletin board on July 1, 1996, and two bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Communications and Electronics Command, Ft. Monmouth, N.J. (DAAB07-96-D-C015).

NAVY

Geo-Centers Incorporated, Newton Centre, Mass., is being awarded a $5,878,509 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for acquisition of research and development of material for naval weapons. This contract contains options which, if exercised, will bring the cumulative value of this contract to $24,560,769. Work will be performed in Washington, D.C. (70%), and Newton Centre, Mass. (30%), and is expected to be completed by August 1997. Contract funds in the amount of $460,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 48 proposals solicited and one offer received. The Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00014-96-C-2097).

AIR FORCE

Harper/Nielsen Dillingham Builders, Incorporated, San Diego, Calif., was awarded on August 26, 1996, a $17,724,714 firm fixed price contract to provide for construction of 143 units of military family housing at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. The work will be performed at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. Contract is expected to be completed January 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 36 firms solicited and three proposals received. Solicitation began June 1996; negotiations were completed July 1996. The 30th Space Wing, Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., is the contracting activity (F04684-96/C-0046).
