To support Southern Journeys, an exhibition of works by African-American artists. The museum seeks to educate and engage Central Louisiana audiences, particularly students, by featuring 75 artists whose oeuvre reflects the South's influence from the nineteenth into the twenty-first century, as well as through related activities, such as local visual arts workshops conducted by exhibited artists and dissemination of a curriculum workbook to all area schools.

To support the opening classical concert of the 2004-05 season. An orchestral work by composer-in-residence Todd Goodman will premiere. The other works to be performed include Bartok's Concerto for Orchestra and Tchaikovsky's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D major, with guest violinist Ju-Young Baek.

To support the exhibition Latin American Graphics: The Evolution of Identity from the Mythical to the Personal. Drawn from the Museum of Latin American Art's collection, graphic works executed in a variety of media will illustrate the development of printmaking in the region from the mid-20th century to the present. The museum will promote the exhibition to Amarillo's Hispanic population and public school students, as well as the general public.

To support up to two plays and a special sesquicentennial choral concert. The theater will stage up to 15 performances each of John Brochu's Cooking with Gus and Ray Cooney's Caught in the Net. It will also contribute to the City of Tomah's sesquicentennial celebration by organizing and sponsoring a performance by the LaCrosse Chorale.

Conducted in Phoenix and Tucson venues, these activities include student attendance at final dress rehearsals, interactive demonstrations of opera stagecraft, presentations introducing the composer's perspective, pre-curtain lectures, and assistive initiatives for individuals with vision or hearing impairments.

To support choral artists' fees for restaging the program, As the Spirit Moves You, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday in 2005. Ballet Memphis will collaborate with the STAX Music Academy's StreetCorner Harmonies and the LeMoyne Owen College Gospel Choir for one of the three ballets, Grace by Trey McIntyre, which is performed to live gospel music.

In evening and matinee performances, the CWSO will play the music of Wagner, Vaughn Williams, Khatchaturian, and Beethoven. Maestro Patrick Miles and a small ensemble of orchestra musicians will visit three local elementary schools to demonstrate the program's repertoire and offer vouchers for complimentary tickets to performances.

The orchestra will be joined by the Colorado Springs Chorale, the Colorado Springs Children's Chorale, and vocal soloists for evening and matinee performances of Orff's Carmina Burana and Prokofiev's Lieutenant Kije Suite. Maestro Lawrence Leighton Smith chose the program to involve local and regional artists and arts organizations.

To support the first concert of the 2004-05 season. Pianist Gilles Vonsattel will join the Philharmonic for a program of Beethoven and Brahms, Two B or Not Two B. The Palace will host Ball in the House, a group of young men who sing rock, hip-hop, and R&B tunes acapella, and Corsicana native Bobby Sparks, the jazz-gospel keyboardist, music arranger, and producer, as part of its commitment to bring a variety of performing arts to community audiences of all ages.

To support Part One activities of The Harvest, a two-part celebration of Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, and Seminole tribal arts. Awards will be accorded to master artists and a playwright will be honored with the Garrard Best Play Prize.

Instrumental coaching will be provided for the first time to the small string orchestra of elementary and middle school students, as well as to the symphony orchestra. Maestro Nicholas Palmer will give a lecture-demonstration before the concert, which will open with A Festive Violet Pulse by contemporary composer Nancy Galbraith. Guest pianist Peter Vinograde will join the orchestra for Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No.1, and the program will close with Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2.

Ozark Festival Orchestra

To support the Fall Festival concert and the Salute to Veterans concert as well as the purchase of a tympani. Located in rural southwestern Missouri, the OFO performs both classical repertoire and orchestral arrangements of popular music genres.
