Welcome

Welcome! This site contains information about Michigan public beaches and recreational-use waterways. Here you will find information about beach closings, monitoring efforts and E. coli test results. Information on this site is entered and maintained by local health department offices.

To search for a beach or other location, enter any part of the beach name or waterbody name into the search box on the top of this page and click "GO". You may also click a county on the map above to search by county. A help page is also available.

Effective spring 2003, local health departments which perform beach water quality sampling are required to report beach testing results to MDEQ according to legislation passed in May, 2002. House Bill 4719 (Act 507) establishes the law.
