NREL collaborates with manufacturers to test thermally activated HVAC technologies using state-of-the-art test equipment housed in NREL's Advanced Thermal Conversion Lab.
NREL is dedicated to working with the desiccant cooling and dehumidification industry. Past cooperative research efforts of the Distributed Thermal Energy Technologies project have focused on solid desiccants such as silica gel and polymers. Current research efforts involve qualified industry partners in the development of advanced liquid desiccant systems. Through cost-shared partnerships, the next generation of TAT components and systems are being developed, tested, and commercialized.
