One of my parents has a PIN. Can he/she sign electronically?
Yes. If your parent has a PIN, he/she can electronically sign your
FAFSA or correction to your FAFSA. Your parent will be asked to enter
his/her PIN as identification. Then he/she will be asked for your
Social Security Number, date of birth, and the first two letters of
your last name, as well as the type of application you filed so we can
match your parent’s signature to your application.
Important Note: A PIN that is selected or viewed instantly online or is sent to you or your parent in an instant e-mail is considered to be conditional until your (or your parent’s) information is verified with the Social Security Administration (1-3 days from the date you first apply). You or your parent may sign your 2008-2009 FAFSA with it but nothing else. Once we complete this verification, you or your parent will be able to use the PIN for other purposes (such as signing your 2007-2008 FAFSA or signing your corrections).
Where do I mail my signature page?
