Partnerships

To promote the use of renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies, NREL partners with a variety of organizations, countries, universities and colleges, research laboratories and institutions, and companies throughout the world.

Here you'll find a list of partners that support our projects and initiatives.

Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)

Facilitates economic growth, cooperation, trade and investment in the Asia-Pacific region.

Asia-Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate (APP)

Focuses on voluntary practical measures taken by six countries in the Asia-Pacific region--the United States, Australia, China, India, Japan, and South Korea--to create new investment opportunities, build local capacity, and remove barriers to the introduction of clean, more efficient technologies.

Climate Technology Initiative

Brings countries together to foster international cooperation in the accelerated development and diffusion of climate friendly and environmentally sound technologies and practices.

Council of Energy Resource Tribes (CERT)

Supports member Tribes as they develop their management capabilities and use their energy resources as the foundation for building stable, diversified self-governing economies (according to each Tribe's own values and priorities).

Global Village Energy Partnership (GVEP)

Provides modern energy access to those underserved --particularly among the poorer and marginalized members of society -as a means of accelerating rural development and alleviating poverty.

National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO)

Works to improve the quality and effectiveness of state energy programs and policies, provide policy input and analysis, share successes among the states, and be a repository of information on energy issues of concern to the states and their citizens.

United Nations Development Program (UNDP)

Advocates for change and connects countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life.

United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)

Provides leadership and encourages partnership in caring for the environment by inspiring, informing, and enabling nations and peoples to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations.

United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)

Considers, as an international treaty among participating countries, what can be done to reduce global warming and to cope with whatever temperature increases are inevitable.

U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)

Supports long-term and equitable economic growth and advances U.S. foreign policy through economic growth, agriculture and trade; global health, democracy, conflict prevention, and humanitarian assistance.

Protects human health and the environment, particularly working for a cleaner, healthier environment for the American people.
