Opportunities to work part-time while school is in session, and full-time during summer and school breaks; | |

How Does It Work? | |
Work periods are scheduled around school schedules, usually on a part-time basis while school is in session; | |
Work experience does not need to relate to the academic program being pursued; and, | |
There is no eligibility for conversion to a permanent position. | |

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has available positions in: | |
Bethesda, Maryland; | |
Gaithersburg, Maryland; | |
And, occasionally, around the country. | |
What Kind Of Work Can I Do? | |
You may choose from a variety of exciting fields such as: | |
Legal/Compliance; | |
Computer; | |
Scientific and Engineering; and | |
Administrative. | |
How Much Will I Earn? | |
Students can be hired at the GS-1 through the GS-7 level (Salary ranges from $15,125-$28,866 per annum). Salary would be determined by the applicant's education and experience. | |

Who Is Eligible? | |
Students who are enrolled or accepted for enrollment as degree seeking students and are taking at least a half-time academic, vocational or technical course in an accredited high school, technical or vocational school, 2 year or 4 year college or university, graduate or professional school. | |
Participation must be determined by Federal, State, or local laws and standards governing the employment of minors. | |
U.S. Citizenship is not required, provided that the student is lawfully admitted into the United States as a permanent resident, or otherwise authorized to be employed in the United States. Students under the Student Career Experience Program (SCEP) MUST be U.S. Citizens to be eligible for conversion to a permanent Federal position. |
