NREL provides renewable energy training for governments and organizations worldwide to assist with energy planning and project development.

Renewable Energy Models and Tools

NREL integrates renewable energy modeling and tools training into its technical assistance provided for:

Federal Energy Management

The Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) has developed several multiday training courses, some of which are offered as many as 10 times per year. All of the courses can be customized or given as designed. Examples include:

  • Implementing Renewable Energy Projects (two-day course)
  • Designing Low Energy Sustainable Laboratories (one-day course)
  • Project Financing/Contractor training (two-day course)
  • Introduction to Super ESPC (two-day workshop) and Advanced Super ESPC (three-day workshop)
  • Utility Energy Services Contract Project workshops (one- to two-day workshops)

Rural Energy Development

NREL develops training for rural energy professionals and stakeholders. Topics include:
