News From the Field Researchers Develop Lecture Search Engine to Aid Students

Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have developed a new search engine that allows anyone to search the content of video-recorded lectures to find a specific subject or word, even if that word is in the middle of the lecture. This powerful new tool uses advanced voice-recognition technology to search the actual spoken words within a recorded lecture. MIT plans to have this technology available to anyone who wishes to see lectures and lessons recorded by its faculty.
