CPSC, Playskool Announce Recall to Replace Busy Poppin' Pals Toys

(Two children and an adult playing, both children have their own toy) In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Playskool is recalling to replace approximately 420,000 units of Busy Poppin' Pals. (close-up of small spring) Small springs inside the toy can break loose, posing a choking and laceration hazard to young children.

(Two children and adult playing with toy) Playskool has received 16 reports of broken springs. Five children have put the broken springs in their mouths, resulting in two children suffering lacerations.

(View of toy) Busy Poppin' Pals is a 13 inch long white toy with blue, yellow and red buttons, (close-up of child playing with toy) levers and knobs of various shapes that, when activated, make animal characters pop up from under lids of corresponding colors.(close of animal faces) The pop-up animals are a giraffe, elephant, panda bear, lion and monkey. (close-up of "Playskool" label) The toy has a white carry handle (view of toy) and the "Playskool" logo on the front.

(Children playing with toy) Mass merchandise stores and toy stores including "Toys-R-Us", sold these toys nationwide for about 10 dollars.
