Lynden Melmed, Chief Counsel, USCISLynden Melmed began his tenure as Chief Counsel for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on January 2, 2007. Prior to his appointment as USCIS Chief Counsel, Mr. Melmed served as Special Counsel to Senator John Cornyn, Chairman of the Senate Subcommittee on Immigration, Border Security and Citizenship. Mr. Melmed has previously served as an attorney in the INS General Counsel’s office, the USCIS Office of the Chief Counsel and the Office of General Counsel in the Department of Homeland Security. Prior to joining the government, Mr. Melmed practiced immigration law in Dallas, Texas with the law firms of Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen and Loewy LLP and Jackson Walker LLP.
