CISE - Office of the Assistant Director

The Office of the Assistant Director is broadly responsible for the three CISE Divisions and their programs. This responsibility includes:

bullet Developing programs and providing justification for the CISE budget during each Fiscal Year's budget process
bullet Formulating program directions for the research community in the areas of computer, computational, and informational sciences and engineering with the participation of such organizations as the; National Academy of Sciences, Computing Research Association, IEEE, ACM and other federal agencies, including the President's Office of Science and Technology Policy
bullet Representing the CISE programs in broad agency management initiatives
bullet Evaluating the needs for the acquisition of broad information technologies infrastructure including networking and computing systems to support CISE research and education programs
bullet Reviewing the development of human resources to support national needs in computer and information technologies training, education and research, including improving participation of under-represented groups
bullet Providing statistical, budgetary, and other analysis and planning.
