Dear Friends,
As you know, I will
be retiring from Congress at the end of the year. Representative-elect
Bobby Bright will be officially sworn in on January 6, 2009 to represent the
Second District in Alabama.
In order to make room
for the newly-elected representatives, I must close my Washington
office on November 25, 2008. I will no longer be able to respond to
inquiries or open new constituent cases, and Email service to my offices will
cease on November 25, 2008. My offices in Montgomery,
Dothan
and Opp, will remain open for routine walk-in and telephone traffic until
December 19, 2008.
If you need urgent
assistance, I would also like to suggest that you check with Alabama Senators,
Richard Shelby and Jeff Sessions. You can reach Senator Shelby’s office
in Montgomery
at (334) 223-7303. The telephone number for Senator Sessions is (334)
244-7017.
It has been a
pleasure and an honor to be of service to you over the past 16 years. One
of the most rewarding parts of my job as your representative to Congress has
been meeting so many of you in the Second District. I would like to thank
you for having the benefit of your views and advice.
With best wishes.
Terry Everett
