Regulations Governing Hazardous Waste Generators (PDF) (10 pp, 207K) from the RCRA Orientation Manual
Provides introductory information on the hazardous waste management programs for generators under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). It is designed for EPA and state personnel, members of the regulated community, and the general public who wish to better understand RCRA.

RCRA Training Module: Introduction to Generators (PDF) (23 pp, 181K)
Provides an overview of requirements for hazardous waste generators; explains the three classes of generators, outlines the different generation and accumulation limits, and provides specific regulatory citations. Other topics include EPA identification (ID) numbers and manifests; accumulation standards and regulations pertaining to accumulation in tanks, containers, containment buildings, and on drip pads; and "satellite accumulation."

Hazardous Waste Manifest System
Details the forms, reports, and procedures designed to seamlessly track hazardous waste from the time it leaves the generator facility where it was produced, until it reaches the off-site waste management facility that will store, treat, or dispose of the hazardous waste.

This series of publications provides an overview of the RCRA regulations affecting specific industry sectors. Presents the life cycle of a typical waste for each industry and focuses on recycling and pollution prevention options. Hazardous Waste Data/Biennial RCRA Hazardous Waste Reports
EPA, in partnership with the States, biennially collects information regarding the generation, management, and final disposition of hazardous wastes regulated under RCRA. The purpose of the biennial reports is to communicate the findings of EPA's waste reporting data collection efforts to the public, government agencies, and the regulated community.

Summarizes existing data on the waste generation and management practices of CESQGs to help EPA satisfy the RCRA Section 4010(c) mandate for non-municipal facilities that may receive CESQG waste. The data included in this report are summarized from seven national, state, and local studies on CESQGs.

Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generators Rule - Standards for Non-Municipal Solid Waste Units that Receive CESQG Hazardous Waste
In 1996, EPA issued regulations that require any existing non-municipal, non-hazardous waste disposal unit that receives CESQG waste to comply with new technical standards, however, the rule continues to allow disposal of CESQG hazardous waste in municipal solid waste landfills (MSWLFs) when such landfills meet Part 258 criteria. Reuse or recycling facilities also continue to be an acceptable option for managing CESQG hazardous waste.
