EPA is working closely with federal, state, and local agencies, Indian tribes, the agricultural community, public land managers, and other stakeholders to develop reasonable, science-based approaches to balance burning activity with clean air and a healthy environment.
The Region 10 Smoke and Air Quality Strategy (coming soon) will describe our goals, objectives, and efforts to address regional smoke issues and impacts related to agricultural and forestry burning practices in the Northwest.
