The 145th and final Corona launch took place on 25 May 1972. Having achieved its purpose, Corona’s existence is now unclassified and its artifacts have been made available to the Smithsonian Institution so that others might gain a sense of how far-reaching the program’s unsung heros were in their pioneering efforts. The camera and two buckets from Corona’s last flight will be part of a permanent exhibit at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum.
