Nonindigenous Occurrences:

Colorado: Labidesthes sicculus was collected in the South Platte drainage in 1998 (Rasmussen 1998).

Nebraska:  L.sicculus was originally introduced accidentally into Nebraska in 1979 into the Sutherland Reservoir (Rowe 1992). It was collected in Sarpy and Lancaster Counties and is established in Buffalo, Dawson-Gosper, Gosper, Hamilton, Lincoln, Phelps, and Seward Counties (Rasmussen 1998, Rowe 1992).

Vermont: L. sicuclus was collected in Lake Champlain in 1998 and 2000 (Eliopoulos and Stangel 2001, Marsden et al. 2000).

West Virginia: L. sicculus has been collected in the Lower New and Potomac drainages (Jenkins and Burkhead 1994, Stauffer 1995)

Means of Introduction: Accidental and bait bucket release as well as canal connections.

Status:

A population of L.sicculus was extirpated from experimental ponds beside Clear Lake, Lake County, California in 1963 (Shapovalov et al. 1981).

L. sicculus is only established in Virginia in the New River below Bluestone dam (Jenkins and Burkhead 1994).
