Common Name: single horn bryozoan
Identification: Gosner (1978:118), Meinkoth (1981:715).
Native Range:
Japan (Carlton 1989). Common from Florida north to Cape Cod, reported north to the Arctic (Meinkoth 1981). Needs 18 o/oo minimum salinity (Gosner 1978:118).
Nonindigenous Occurrences: Established in Prince William Sound, Alasaka (Ruiz 2000). Coos Bay, Oregon (Carlton 1989). Established in Puget Sound, Washington (Cohen 2004).
Means of Introduction: Commercial oyster industry (Carlton 1989).
Status: Established.
Impact of Introduction: Unknown.
