Re: Comments on Draft Guidelines for Accessible Public Rights-of-Way
Dear Sirs
The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) thanks you for the opportunity to
comment on the Draft Guidelines for Accessible Public Rights-of-Way before
formal rule making begins. Staff has reviewed the Draft and has numerous
concerns. At this time there are issues with when to apply current regulations
during maintenance and preservation activities. The new guidelines further
complicate and add significant cost to these efforts.
The ITD is in complete agreement with the
comments and recommendations that are
being submitted by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation
Officials (AASHTO). We would like to go on record as supporting AASHTO's
position.
I. D. Ross, P.E. Chief Engineer
