To whom this may concern:
I've been blind for three years and since learning
cane travel my experiences at the majority of street crossings I find such
an proposal to be without merit and unnecessary.
Perhaps in your efforts to assist the blind your
decision would only promote the set back of millions of blind Americans whom
strive for independence and not costly measures of such view points.
I agree with the National Federation of the Blind
position that we do not need locator poles and noise makers at every corner.
We need better training and understanding to the real necessities of the
traveling blind.
