I am in favor of some types of audible traffic signals but not all of them.
In the neighborhood where I live we have some talking signals. They omit a soft
ticking to enable persons who are visually impaired to locate the button. The
voice notifies the person when the walk light is on. There is no loud screeching
noise to drown the traffic. We need to hear the traffic to make a safe decision,
as when to cross.
Thank you for the opportunity to let you know how I feel.
