On August 27, 2004, President George W. Bush issued HSPD 12. The goal of the initiative is to eliminate wide variations in the quality and security of forms of identification issued to government employees and contractors.

As of March 21, 2008, the NLRB has issued 304 new Federal identification credentials to employees and contractors pursuant HSPD12. View our latest statistics of credentials as updated weekly at http://www.fedidcard.gov/statistics.aspx.
