TRI Education Program for Teachers

The Region 9 Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) program eagerly supports schools by helping teachers and students to use the TRI database. The TRI database contains information about chemical releases into the air, water and land from facilities across the country. This helps to carry out the intentions of the Community Right to Know Act, which states that everyone has a right to know about chemicals that they may be exposed to on a daily basis.

Curriculum

Use the TRI / Teaching with Databases curriculum developed by the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) to conduct research and apply TRI data to a series of hands-on activities covering biology, chemistry, environmental science, and more! The strength of this teaching curriculum is that it uses real data collected from your local areas. Geared toward high school and college students.
