The production of this CCSP scientific report was not coupled to the production of EPA's recently released documents pertaining to the potential regulation of greenhouse gas emissions. The 21 CCSP Synthesis and Assessment Products, of which this is one, are policy-relevant but not policy-prescriptive. This assessment provides a comprehensive scientific review of the impacts of a changing climate on human health/welfare at geographic scales of interest to the public, local and regional health authorities, and other resource managers. The authors of this report were both federal and non-federal scientists and, as with all other CCSP Synthesis and Assessment reports, it was reviewed by an independent panel of experts and through a public comment period.
