Dear Colleague,

You are invited to provide comments on the Second Draft of CCSP Synthesis and Assessment Product 2.2, North American Carbon Budget and Implications for the Global Carbon Cycle [also known as the Prototype State of the Carbon Cycle Report (SOCCR) focused on North America]. This report is one of 21 synthesis and assessment products being prepared by the Climate Change Science Program (CCSP).

This draft has been prepared in accordance with the procedures outlined in the Final Product 2.2 Prospectus that was posted on this site on February 14, 2006. A peer review draft was issued in May 2006, and the current draft was prepared with the benefit of review comments from the peer review.

Comments received during the current 45-day public comment period will be taken into consideration by the Lead Authors in the preparation of a third draft, as required by the Guidelines for Producing CCSP Synthesis and Assessment Products available at www.climatescience.gov. Once the revisions are complete, the third draft of the Synthesis and Assessment Product will be submitted to the CCSP Interagency Committee for approval.
