Product 3.2 (Climate Projections Based on Emissions Scenarios for long-lived radiatively active trace gases and future climate impacts of short-lived radiatively active gases and aerosols). Draft prospectus is issued along with invitation to comment.  Deadline for comments: 28 August 2006 [comment period now closed].  See Federal Register notice (dtd 28 July 2006). 

Product 3.3 (Weather and Climate Extremes in a Changing Climate): Final prospectus is issued along with comments on the draft prospectus. (links posted 20 July 2006)

Product 4.1 (Coastal elevation and sensitivity to sea level rise).  Request for nominations to the Coastal Elevations and Sea Level Rise Advisory Committee (CESLAC).  Notice by EPA published (19 July 2006) in the Federal Register.  Deadline for nominations: twenty-one days of the date of this Federal Register notice.

These drafts describe the proposed focus of each product and the process that will be used to prepare it. Stakeholders Workshop, on Synthesis & Assessment Product 4.5 (Effects of Global Change on Energy Production and Use).  Participants will discuss the scope of the product.  The workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, 27 September 2005 in North Bethesda, Maryland.  See announcement and agenda.

9 September 2005.  Climate Change Science Program (CCSP) Product Development Committee (CPDC) for Synthesis and Assessment Product 1.1.  Notice published in the Federal Register, announcing formation of the CPDC and inviting comments.  The committee "will consist of no more than 30 members to be appointed by the Under Secretary to assure a balanced representation among preeminent scientists, educators, and experts reflecting the full scope of the scientific issues addressed in CCSP Synthesis and Assessment Product 1.1. The CPDC-S&A 1.1 will function solely as an advisory body, and in compliance with the provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act. Its charter will be filed under the Act, 15 days from the date of publication of this notice in the Federal Register. "

Review of the U.S. Climate Change Science Program’s Synthesis and Assessment Product on Temperature Trends in the Lower Atmosphere.  Report (issued 3 May 2005) from the National Research Council, Board on Atmospheric Sciences and Climate (BASC).  "Provides a review of the CCSP’s draft synthesis and assessment product on “Temperature Trends in the Lower Atmosphere: Steps for Understanding and Reconciling Differences,” [Product 1.1] considering, for example, if the goals and objectives are clearly described, if the findings and recommendations are supported by evidence and analysis, if the presentation and organization is effective, if it is scientifically objective and policy neutral, and how it might be improved." 10-11 May 2005.  Lakewood, CO.  Past climate variability and change in the Arctic and at high latitudes: Scoping Workshop.  The open workshop will explore the content and structure of Synthesis and Assesment Product 1.2 (Past Climate Variability and Change in the Arctic and at High Latitudes).  It also will identify technical leads for the product. Draft Guidelines for Producing CCSP Synthesis and Assessment Deliverables (PDF, dtd 29 March 2004).  To ensure openness and transparency, draft guidelines have been prepared for the process of preparing the products. A public comment period on the guidelines was completed and the guidelines were revised, taking into consideration the comments received. A final version of the guidelines will be available on this Web site in the near future.
