American Society on Aging

Mission statement:

For over 40 years, the American Society on Aging has been an active and effective resource for professionals in aging and aging-related fields who want to enhance their ability to promote the well-being of aging people and their families. ASA seeks to: Foster a sense of community among professionals working with and on behalf of the aging. Provide high-quality professional education and training. Promote research and disseminate information. Facilitate innovative approaches to service delivery. Promote a public image of aging that respects the wisdom, dignity, experience and independence of aging people. Influence social and public policies and structures by facilitating debate about new and developing issues. Enhance and increase the involvement of ethnic, racial and other minorities in the field of aging. Collaborate with other organizations to enhance the well-being of older people and their families.
