2005 National Emissions Inventory Data & Documentation

As defined in the 2005 NEI Plan distributed in September 2005, the 2005 NEI Version 1 is a reduced effort version based on the 2002 NEI Version 3 with the following additions:

  • 2005 EGU emissions/heat input for ARP
  • 2005 NIM run for onroad and nonroad emissions
  • Facility closures from state/local and tribal agencies
  • 2005 wildfire/managed burn data

    • The 2005 NEI Version 1 does not include state/local and tribal data. The state/local and tribal data are available on this website in their original form as received from the submitting agency.

    We are working to create a 2005 NEI Version 2. The 2005 NEI Version 2 will be available in Spring 2008 and will incorporate:

  • Updated Non-EGU stationary source data based on state/local and tribal CERR submittals an Risk and Technology Review comments
  • Updated NMIM runs based on state/local and tribal submittals of NMIM inputs.

    Inventory Data
    Tier Summaries
    2005 NEI Version 1 summaries. These summaries do not contain any state, local tribal (S/L/T) data and are at the aggregate level. Submitted S/L/T data will be included in Version 2 expected in the Spring of 2008.

    2005 NEI Version 1 will be available
    NCDNEI2005: NMIM County Database Used to Produce the 2005 NEI (August 2007). NCDNEI2005 is a standard NMIM County Database (NCD) in MySQL. It contains the tables that were used to produced the 2005 NEI, limited to the year 2005. It may be used to run NMIM, but only for 2005. The whole directory "NCDNEI2005" should be placed in C:\MySQL\data. Once there, MySQL will recognize it as a database. Under County Database in the Advanced Features panel of the NMIM GUI, set the Server to localhost and the Database to NCDNEI2005. This database will not work for any year except 2005, because it does not contain VMT, fuels, or meterological data (temperatures and relative humidities) for other years. More details on the construction of this database may be found in NCDNEI2005\readme\ChangeLog.doc.
    Biogenic Sector Data
    Biogenic Sector Data and Readme for biogenic data - The biogenic emissions data has not been updated since it was originally posted in March 2004. It has been moved to the Final 2005 NEI FTP site for your convenience.
