Emissions Modeling Clearinghouse
The Emissions Modeling Clearinghouse (EMCH) has been designed to support and promote emission modeling activities both internal and external to EPA. Through this site the EPA intends to distribute emissions model input formatted inventories based on the latest versions of its National Emission Inventory databases. In addition to the emissions data, this site will be used to document and distribute the Agency's latest versions of the ancillary files used to support the temporal, spatial, speciation, and projection of these emissions. Although numerous links to other sources of emissions, modeling factors, and emissions models are available through this site, the EPA does not actively support the use of any one inventory, set of factors, or emissions models for input development to air quality modeling.

2002-Based Modeling Platform
This platform includes emissions data and tools that are in development for supporting future EPA analyses. This platform will include support of both criteria air pollutants (CAPs), mercury, and other hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) to prepare emissions for air quality models.
Disclaimer: The data available at this time are not necessarily the final data for the 2002-based platform. EPA may choose to create another version of the 2002 platform at a later time, without notice.

We also plan to post additional future-year data for 2009 and 2014, but a schedule has not yet been set for these.
Mercury-only 2002-Based Platform, Version 3
- Documentation (in progress)
- Data Files (last updated 1/17/2008)
- CAP NEI files are the same as the CAP-only platform and should be obtained from the CAP 2002-Based Platform, Version 3 described above.
- 2002NEI, version 3 for mercury, chlorine, and hydrochloric acid (HCI) in SMOKE "ORL" input format. These are the polluntants needed for supporting mercury modeling with the current version of the CMAQ model.
- There are no additional ancillary files for this case. All ancillary files to process these emissions should be obtained from the CAP and HAP 2002-Based Platform, Version 3, described below.

2001-Based Modeling Platform
The 2001 modeling platform includes emissions data (but not tools) that were used for previous EPA analyses, as listed below for each platform. Version 2 of this platform supports only CAP emissions, while Version 1 supports both CAPS and mercury.
CAP 2001-Based Platform, Version 2
Includes 2001 and future baseline emissions data used for the EPA analyses shown below. These data files generally do not include rule-specific emissions files for rule-specific base case runs or control strategies. The complete list of rules and RIAs using this version of the platform is:
- Regulatory Impact Analysis for Final PM NAAQS
- Regulatory Impact Analysis for Proposed 03 NAAQS
- Locomotive Marine Rule Proposal (EPA Office of Transportation and Air Quality)
- Analysis of Clean Diesel programs (EPA Office of Transportation and Air Quality)
- Section 753 Report of the 2005 Energy Policy Act.
- Documentation
- This platform has been documented in Chapters 1 and 2 of the PM NAAQS Regulatory Impact Assessment, which is available online at http://www.epa.gpv/ttn/ecas/ria.html.
- Data Files (last updated July 2007)
- 2001 NEI for CAPs in SMOKE "IDA" input format
