The Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance sponsers the grant programs listed below. State and Tribal Assistance Grants
States and tribes play a crucial role in the implementation of our nation's environmental laws and regulations. EPA's enforcement and compliance assurance program forges strong partnerships with states and tribes through cooperative agreements, known as State and Tribal Assistance Grants (STAG). EPA sponsors three opportunities for states and tribes to apply for funding under the compliance and enforcement STAG program.
- The Multimedia STAG program provides grant to states, tribes, inter-tribal consortia, territories and multi-jurisdictional organizations build capacity to comply with U.S environmental laws and regulations.
- The Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act STAG program forms cooperative agreements with states and tribes for pesticide compliance and enforcement activities.
- The Toxic Substances Control Act STAG program awards states, territories and tribes funds to conduct inspections for compliance with the Polychlorinated Biphenyls PCB regulations, the requirements, worker protection standards, and lead-based paint requirements
Environmental Justice Grants
The Environmental Justice office provides financial assistance to community-based organizations to address local environmental concerns.
