The purpose of my letter is to inform you of the unnecessary need for these hazardous detectible warning bumps. I know they are hazardous, because we have them at all platforms on the Long Island Railroad, on which I commute every day, and in the wintertime, Ice forms in the bumps, which makes it unsafe to walk on. The money that would be spent on adding bumps and chirping traffic lights would be better spent on repairing sidewalks and better signage, which would be a bigger help to blind individuals.
