We need to have detectable warnings at places where vehicular traffic moves.  
The safety strips in the metro are very helpful for people who are blind or visually impaired.  "We need more stations with the strips before a life is lost!"  How many times has a sighted person gone off the edge.  The warning strips are helpful to all nor just for us!

We need accessible pedestrian signals to help us cross streets.  It's bad enough the vehicles don't stop for us any way, but at least we with the accessible signal we can hear them and at least cross the street fast enough while the light is with us.  Otherwise by the time we know the traffic is stopped, there is not enough time to cross before the light changes, basically getting stuck in the middle of the street. Correct the timing on the lights as well to give more time to cross the streets.
And, by all means, pass a law or enforce one if one is on the books about the right on red, as the drivers do not yield to pedestrians.  I don't know how many time I have been brushed back to the sidewalk while trying to cross with a vehicle making a right on red turn!
