I live at an extremely difficult intersection. I'm wrong about when to step off the curb about 90 percent of the time. I have a guide dog, but even so, I take my life in my hands every time I cross this street. I have to cross it for over half the places I go. There are other streets in my area that have audible signals, and though the poles are difficult to find, the signals are very helpful. I understand that some people are seeking to overturn the recommendations of the Access Board. I have always been saddened and annoyed that certain people who do not feel they need such signals get in the way of so many of us who feel that we do need them. Blind people have widely varied travel skills and abilities and traffic is getting more and more confusing in terms of traffic patterns. Please keep audible signals an option at least for complex intersections. I'd feel a whole lot safer about traveling if they were at every intersection. I know I'd venture out far more than I do if this were the case.
