I am a legally blind woman living in Massachusetts, more specifically in a community that has a good number of audible pedestrian crossing signals.  I feel very lucky to have such audible signals enabling me to navigate around my city as independently and safely as circumstances allow.  The notion of these signals along with audible detection signals not being necessary or worse, unimportant, is so ludicrous.  My ability along with other blind and visually impaired travelers to safely get around is very much at stake.

 

I hope that you will help support the recommendations in the PROWAC  Report and make basic safety of people walking through their own communities a priority.
