I am a 62 year old man who has been blind his entire life. I have been trained to use traffic sounds as indicators of when to cross streets. This method has served me well but has definite short-comings that technology has helped to reduce. Audible traffic signals improve my ability to travel safely and independently. Please allow this advance in the enabling of blind independence to be available for the many blind people in this country. Install this technology at every new intersection that requires a walk/don't walk sign.

Other countries install these signals and this is an area where we are behind and need to move forward.
