GSA’s Integrated Workplace Acquisition Center (IWAC), formerly known as the National Furniture Center (NFC), is the leading supplier of furniture and furnishings to federal activities worldwide. The IWAC specializes in the procurement of a variety of household and office furniture, dormitory furnishings, mail management and security equipment, as well as sports and recreation products worldwide. We also offer furniture related services such as turnkey project management as well as personalized services fine tuned for each customer’s specific requirements.  

Through the consolidated buying power of the U.S. government, the IWAC has negotiated contracts for furniture resulting in typical discounts of 55 percent to 82 percent off list price. Both Multiple Award Schedule contracting and specific requirements type contracting are available, providing maximum flexibility and convenience to agencies. One of the IWAC’s specialties is the ability to consolidate requirements to negotiate and achieve the maximum discounts available even in excess of regular schedule discounts. 

The IWAC has proven expertise in a variety of procurement methods and the ability to contract for any products and services available on the commercial market. Our personnel are available to procure services through a variety of contract vehicles. With many years of experience in all types of projects all over the world, the IWAC consistently performs on time and within budget.

1. Consultation Services on Products and Services

Advice and consultation on products and services available on MAS Schedules. Personal visits and presentations upon request.

2. Engineering and Specification Assistance

Review and modification of technical packages for Solicitations; market research for competition; and engineering consultation services.

3. Complete Contracting & Procurement Service for Furniture & Furnishings

Complete contracting and procurement services through a variety of contract vehicles. Both Multiple Award Schedule contracting and specific requirements-type contracting is available, providing maximum flexibility and convenience to agencies. 

4. Project Management, Design & Installation Services

The IWAC has many years of project management experience on various types of projects providing consolidation and procurement advice for furniture requirements. Design, space planning and installations are customized according to agency requirements.

5. Establish Shipping Schedules

Prepare shipping schedule for all products ordered. Arrange receipt and delivery in an orderly manner.

6. Resolve Deficiency Complaints & Punch List Items

Contact vendors to resolve quality complaints. File freight claims for damaged items. Arrange for repair or replacement of damaged items.

7. Resolve Contract Disputes

Mediate disputes between the manufacturer and end-user concerning pricing discrepancies, late shipments, etc.

8. Resolve Invoice/Payment Issues

Liaison between government finance offices and vendors

9. Arrange Relocation/Reconfiguration Services

Planning the order of the move, coordinating move procedures and scope requirement for contract. Arrange warehouse storage if required.
