GSA Expands the Computers for Learning Program![]() Posted January 13, 2004 America’s continued growth is dependent upon the educational health of its children, tomorrow’s leaders. GSA’s Computers for Learning (CFL) program—in operation since 1999—increases access to technology in classrooms across the nation by transferring unneeded computers and related equipment from federal agencies to schools and educational nonprofit organizations. In an effort to make modern computer technology an even more integral part of every classroom, GSA’s Associate Administrator for Governmentwide Policy, Marty Wagner, signed an open letter to private sector companies. This signals the launch of the new private sector section of the CFL website. Now, in addition to more than 34 federal departments and agencies participating in the program, companies and private sector groups located throughout the United States can also log on to CFL and register to transfer their unneeded computers. The CFL program is good for schools, good for business, and good for the environment. Support America’s schools by supporting the program. For more information or to register, visit the CFL website or call (866) 806-PROP.
