Res. 1214] The Committee on Rules, having had under consideration House Resolution 1214, by a voice vote, report the same to the House with the recommendation that the resolution be adopted. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS OF THE RESOLUTION The resolution waives all points of order against the conference report to accompany S. Con. Res. 70, setting forth the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2009 and including the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2008 and 2010 through 2013, and against its consideration. The rule provides that the conference report shall be considered as read. The rule provides one hour of debate on the conference report, equally divided and controlled by the chairman and ranking minority member of the Committee on the Budget. EXPLANATION OF WAIVERS The waiver of all points of order against the conference report and against its consideration includes a waiver of clause 8 of rule XXII (requiring a three-day layover of conference reports and the accompanying joint explanatory statement). Although the rule waives all points of order against the conference report and against its consideration, the conference report does not violate either clause 9 or 10 of rule XXI. <all>
