Records Management

Commerce appreciates the necessity to effectively manage its information, both electronic and paper, throughout its lifecycle.  The Commerce Chief Information Officer oversees the records management program to ensure that policies and procedures are implemented for the creation, use, maintenance, safeguarding, and disposition of information and records in accordance with approved records schedules.  Commerce cooperates with the Federal Records Council and the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) on government-wide E-Records initiatives.
