Peoria Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse100 N.E. Monroe Street Built in 1938 of limestone and granite, the three-story, 118,000-square-foot Peoria Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse was designed in the Art Moderne style, a streamlined look popular in the late 1920s and 1930s. Public corridors and lobbies feature terrazzo floors, marble clad walls, and decoratively painted ceilings. The Courthouse's major tenant is the Federal Judiciary. In 2004, the Courthouse won The Building Office of the Year (TOBY) Award for government buildings in the North Central Region from the Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI). The building also garnered a customer satisfaction rate of 96% (rating of four or higher on a five-point scale) on the most recent survey in 2005.
