Vans with Wheelchair LiftsGSA currently has two contracts covering vans equipped to transport persons with physical disabilities. These vans include General Motors and Ford chassis’ that meet specifications for Standard Item 24 of Federal Standard 307, and will be modified to provide wheelchair lifts and wheelchair tie-downs with various seating configurations. The contractors offering these vans are: Main Mobility, Inc. – General Motors chassis Accubuilt, Inc. – Ford chassis Due to the unique nature of these vehicles, customer agencies cannot use AutoChoice to place orders. Requisitioners must submit GSA form 1781 – Motor Vehicle Requisition. Customers must indicate which contractor they prefer in addition to the seating configuration desired. If this information can not fit into the space allowed, an addendum may be submitted with the Requisition to indicate contractor, engine and seating configuration preferences. Time of shipment after receipt of order by the contractor is 150 days. In addition to the dedicated transport vans on these two contracts, buses on AutoChoice have the option of wheelchair lifts and multiple wheelchair tie-down positions.
