Termites inside tree.Termites Can Run But They Can't Hide
(35 seconds)
Peek inside an oak tree to see a video clip of Formosan subterranean termites fleeing from a special foam developed by ARS. The foam itself does not kill the termites, but it disperses fungal spores that will eventually do so.

The original video footage was obtained by New Orleans Mosquito and Termite Control Board entomologist Ed Freytag in collaboration with ARS. The lens of a fiber optic video camera was inserted in a 1/2-inch hole drilled horizontally through the trunk of an oak tree known to harbor the pests.
