RESEARCH INTERESTS
Dr. Dijkstra studies effects of global climate change on soil processes such as organic matter decomposition, nutrient cycling, and exchange of greenhouse gasses in semi-arid grasslands. Current projects:
1. The effects of elevated CO2 and warming on carbon and nutrient cycling in a semiarid grassland (Prairie Heating And CO2 Enrichment, PHACE: www.phace.us).
2. The effects of elevated CO2, water availability, and plant species composition on soil organic matter decomposition.
