Summary
The European Commission is examining prevention, protection, pursuit, and response mechanisms to ensure a comprehensive security program. Two efforts have begun in tandem. The first is the European Program for Critical Infrastructure Protection (EPCIP) from late 2005. This was followed a year later by a Green Paper for detection technologies. Both programs are described in this report.
