The Department of Commerce (DOC) IT Security policy requires that all Commerce employees and contractors complete an IT Security training annually. The 2008 Commerce Annual IT Security and Privacy Awareness course is available through the Commerce Learning Center (CLC) at http://learning.doc.gov as part of the e-Gov e-Training initiative.  Updated content in this year's refresher outlines employee responsibilities to protect Commerce IT resources and identifying consequences and corrective actions.  Basic tips for use of this training can be found at: http://ocio.os.doc.gov/ITPolicyandPrograms/IT_Security/Dev01_003878.

All employees must complete the course online before August 15, 2008, or attend one of the following IT Security and Privacy Awareness presentations shown below:

Session I:       Monday, August 4   (10:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.)

Session II:      Monday, August 11  (10:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.)

Session III:      Tuesday, August 12(10:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.)

Session IV:    Tuesday, August 12  ( 2:00 p.m. -   3:45 p.m.) 

Those users who have already completed their annual training through the CLC do not need to attend.  All sessions will be held in the Herbert C. Hoover Building (HCHB) Auditorium.  These sessions Do Not require advance registration.  Please note that federal and contract employees who have already completed security awareness training this year need not attend any of these sessions.
