I Strongly support the recommendations of PROWAC. It is my hope that when
possible, the blind shall be given access to the same information that the
sighted receive. There are many, many intersections where it is impossible to
judge when the light is with the pedestrian by listening to the flow of traffic.
Tactile indicators warning the edge of platforms enhance safety for the blind
traveler.
Also, I wish to state here that claims made by the National Federation of the
Blind that they represent the blind are false for their policies do not reflect
the needs of numerous blind throughout the country.
