Dear Access Board,
I am opposed to the universal installation of audible pedestrian signals and
detectable warnings. The cost of these concern me where the benefit of them
being installed at every intersection in 99% of the cases is not necessary.
I also have concerns about noise pollution. I could just imagine the level of
noise 24 hours a day with most traffic lights coo cooing and tweet tweeting.
If there is a surplus of tax dollars, which I don't imagine there is, it would
be better spent on other programs for the blind and not some device that most
blind people find unnecessary.
