Census Advisory Committee of Professional Associations
The Secretary of Commerce established the Census Advisory Committee of Professional Associations (CACPA) in January 1973 as an advisory body to the Director of the U.S. Census Bureau. CACPA composes recommendations on major programs, such as the decennial census of population and housing, the agriculture and economic censuses, current demographic and economic statistics programs, survey research, and marketing analysis in relation to its areas of expertise.
There are currently four member organizations serving on CACPA; they include the American Economic Association, the American Marketing Association, the American Statistical Association, and the Population Association of America.
