Program Manager for Telecommunications and VII
The Program Manager for Telecommunications and VII is a mid-level position (to be located in Washington, DC) , responsible for providing guidance to ITS America’s Board of Directors and senior staff on matters involving telematics, telecommunications, and Vehicle Infrastructure Integration (VII). VII represents a significant ongoing initiative between Federal and State Departments of Transportation (DOTs), US vehicle manufacturers, and some local road authorities to define and test a secure communications system linking vehicles with each other and with road-side infrastructure to be used primarily for improving the safety and efficiency of the nation’s road transportation system.
ITS America’s new strategic plan calls on it to provide thought leadership and advocacy on matters of importance to the ITS community. No area is more important than this one.
The Program Manager will also offer guidance and support as part of ITS America’s contract with the US DOT, including managing one or more task orders on the contract that relate to VII matters. The position will report to the Vice President of Programs. The individual should expect to engage and network the broader ITS community via ITS America’s colleague organizations to keep apprised of, and help shape the future of VII, telematics, and telecommunications on behalf of ITS America’s members.
